The Vector project is collaboration between Konstfack student Hiroko Tsuchimoto and Mafune Gonjo. Originating from Japan the two 25 year olds have a lot in common as well as a lot in difference. Tsuchimoto and Gonjo majored in different discipline (Tsuchimoto-textile, Gonjo-glass) with opposite course of action. Tsuchimoto casts inquiry on society, Gonjo, on the other hand, explores human mind in their individual works. Two main elements of their joint work are Tsuchimoto´s tactility and Gonjo´s intuition to space. The Vector project is a way for the two artists to question the process of creation, widening their views through collaboration. Although dissimilar in style and manner they are looking for a mutual cut-off point in their work, an intersection of ideas and practice. This is the Vector, a place where chains of thoughts get tangled up, urging us to develop.
